
Moroccan Kefta Tagine
Ingredients (serves 4):
For the meatballs:
500g ground beef or lamb
1 medium onion, finely grated
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley and coriander
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the sauce:
3 ripe tomatoes, grated (or 400g crushed tomatoes)
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sweet paprika
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley and coriander, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
3-4 eggs (optional)
Instructions:
We affectionately call this ‘Nana’s Sweet Dream.’ It’s the ultimate comfort dessert, and I’m always asked to make a double batch!
