A basic home staple, white vinegar is a laundry care superhero.
Some people might be surprised to learn that this all-natural substance is a game-changer for keeping your clothes fresh. This is why adding white vinegar to your monthly laundry regimen can have a big impact:
Maintaining Color
Soak fresh dark-colored bed linens in a solution of white vinegar and cold water for an entire night before washing. By doing this, the colors are better preserved and stay vivid for longer. To get rid of the smell of vinegar, rinse and wash with detergent.All-natural Fabric Softener
As a natural descaler, white vinegar fights the limescale in water that can cause clothes to become stiff. Unlike commercial fabric softeners, adding 250 ml of vinegar to the rinse cycle softens clothing without compromising absorbency. It works particularly well with towels.
Enlivening Whites
White clothing can become discolored over time from debris in the water or detergent residues. Your whites can be brightened again by adding 250–350 cc of white vinegar to your wash cycle on a regular basis. Before washing, let worn-out clothing soak overnight in a solution made of 500 milliliters of vinegar and 1.5 liters of water for better results.
This recipe is now my absolute favorite breakfast and can also be taken on the go.
