Do you remember when little girls were learning to sew? These little objects were very useful to help thread the thread through the eye of the needle.
Every sewing kit had one, along with a needle, tape measure, scissors, pins and a pin holder.
I remember my mother teaching me how to use them, although I can’t say I was particularly efficient with them. How about you?
Here’s some more trivia… Do you remember what this is? Leave a comment on Facebook if you can identify what it is… I recognized them immediately too. Oh dear – does this mean I’m old?
And here are 3 more things that most of my friends won’t recognize….
- These old school pourers were designed to open turbine engine oil cans and they’re made with a sheet metal spout.
Back when oil came in cans instead of plastic bottles, oil pourers looked a bit like hand scoops with a triangular piece of metal in the middle. - Church Keys
Back in my day, these were a must-have before there were screw caps or tabs… The pointy ends of these tools were used to puncture beer and soda cans! - Record Adapters
So what are these? They probably look more like a kid’s Frisbee than anything else, but these nifty tools were used when you put a record on the record player that was the wrong size, you could use one of these adapters to make it fit.
