
Fruit flies and their related counterparts, mosquitoes, are species of flies that occur primarily during the warmer months. You can also choose to make a paper funnel trap by folding a piece of paper into a cone shape and fitting it snugly into the opening of a glass jar. The bottom of the funnel should have an opening about 2.5 cm wide, and the tip should be about 5 cm from the bottom of the jar. Place your chosen bait in the jar and watch as the insects enter the funnel but cannot get out.
