
SEMOLINA CAKE WITH CREAM (BASBOUSA)
A fluffy and fragrant basbousa, filled with a creamy cream, soaked in sweet syrup and scented with orange blossom. A real oriental delicacy!
Ingredients
For the basbousa dough:
250g medium semolina
100g of sugar
100g natural yogurt
100ml of warm milk
50g of melted butter
1 tablespoon of orange blossom water
1 teaspoon of the chemical yeast
Whole almonds (for garnish)
For the cream (Ashta):
250ml of milk
25g de maïzena
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of orange blossom water
For the syrup (Sharbat):
200g of sugar
200ml of water
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of orange blossom water
