Who would have ever imagined that you could use cherry stones to prepare a tasty side sauce? Well, that’s what I’m about to prepare for you. It is the perfect accompaniment to a red meat dish or as a condiment for an appetizing summer salad.
To prepare this sauce, wash 300 g of cherries in a solution of lemon and bicarbonate of soda. Remove the stones, dry them and seal them hermetically in a sterilized bag.
Place the cherries, stones and about 60 g of sugar in a saucepan. Leave on the heat for 3 or 4 minutes, then remove the stones. Add a glass of fortified wine. Wait another 20 minutes and, when the contents are thick enough, turn off the heat.
It’s a good idea to save the cherry stones to make this delicious sauce that will be a delight at any meal.
