After making the 4 cuts, fold the four resulting tabs over themselves as if to close the roll. Then fill up with soil, seeds and water, the seeds germinate very quickly and thanks to the nature of the cardboard roll you can plant the roll itself directly, thus avoiding transplanting the newly born seedlings.
