Instructions:
Cook the Pasta Shells:
Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, chopped spinach (if using), minced garlic, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Stuff the Shells:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spoon the cheese mixture into each cooked pasta shell, ensuring they are generously filled.
Assemble and Bake:
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and cover them with the remaining marinara sauce.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve:
Once out of the oven, let the stuffed shells rest for a few minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
