INSTRUCTIONS:
Wash and Prepare the Ginger:
Begin by washing the ginger root thoroughly to remove any dirt or impurities. Peel the skin using a knife or a peeler, and then finely grate the ginger.
Boil the Ginger:
In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the grated ginger and reduce the heat to a simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 10-15 minutes to infuse the water with ginger’s potent compounds.
Strain the Mixture:
Once the ginger water has simmered, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes. Strain the mixture to remove any ginger particles.
Add Flavor (Optional):
If desired, squeeze the juice of half a lemon into the ginger water for a refreshing twist. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste.
