Mix in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and nutmeg (if using). Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper. Keep in mind that the sauce should be slightly saltier than you prefer because the pasta will incorporate salt.

Add the macaroni that has been prepared to the cheese sauce and stir until the macaroni is evenly coated with the creamy sauce.

Combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in a small basin. The macaroni and cheese mixture is then transferred to the greased baking dish. The reserved cheese shreds should be sprinkled on top, followed by the breadcrumb mixture.
9th Step
Bake the casserole dish in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crusty. Take the Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese out of the oven and allow it to settle. Before serving, garnish with fresh parsley or your preferred herb.
