After John Cena covered their father’s food bill, one family is referring to him as the “kindest man” in town. Following their meeting, they even took a fantastic selfie together, which was posted online.
John Cena startled Charles “Bud” Phillips, a retired Vietnam veteran, in the checkout line while he was shopping at his Florida grocery store.
“My dad was behind him in the checkout line,” Charles’s daughter Stefanie Phillips recounts. While they were conversing, John noticed my dad’s SeaBees hat and praised him for his service. She reveals that John paid for all of his groceries in secret. “My dad was unaware until the cashier remarked, ‘John paid for your groceries,’ while he was being checked out. The bill came to about $100.
What a kind gesture, and Stefanie continued by describing the significance it held for her father.
A Veteran’s Daughter Refers to John Cena as the “Kindest Man”
“My father is a widower and a former Vietnam veteran. After over 50 years of marriage, my mom tragically passed away five years ago. As you might imagine, he doesn’t smile as much as he did in that photo these days,” she says. That’s what makes this particular moment so unique. His day was made brighter by a small gesture of kindness. in addition to his family witnessing the grin on his face!”
